PM Modi lauds over 5,500 school teachers recruited at Madhya Pradesh Rozgar Mela

More than five and a half thousand teachers have been appointed in the primary schools of Madhya Pradesh today at the Rozgar Mela. Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually addressed the Madhya Pradesh Rozgar Mela from Red Fort, Delhi on Monday.

Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister congratulated the newly recruited 5800 primary school teachers and highlighted that the new recruits will play a key role in the implementation of the National Education Policy.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter) on Monday afternoon, the PM wrote in Hindi, “Addressing the Madhya Pradesh Employment Fair. Many congratulations to the newly appointed colleagues.”

The PM says

In his virtual address for the Madhya Pradesh Rozgar Mela, the Prime Minister said that those getting their appointment letters today are joining the important responsibility of not only teaching but also moulding the future generations of India, modernising them and giving them a new direction. The PM also threw light on the critical role of national character in the development of the nation and the role played by teachers towards the same.
The Prime Minister also informed that about 50 thousand teachers have been recruited in the state of Madhya Pradesh in the last 3 years and congratulated the state government for this achievement.

National Education Policy

Talking about how the new recruits will play a crucial role in the implementation of the National Education Policy, the Prime Minister emphasised that equal importance has been given to traditional knowledge as well as future technology. He mentioned that a new curriculum has also been prepared in the field of primary education, while progress has been made regarding imparting knowledge in the mother tongue. He spoke about how in the present time, the government is giving emphasis on books written in regional languages in the syllabus which is expected to bring a change in the education system of the country.

School Education in Madhya Pradesh

The government of Madhya Pradesh is trying relentlessly to boost the quality of school education in the state and ensure access to all. In July this year, the Madhya Pradesh government under the leadership of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced that 9000 ‘CM Rise’ schools across the state with a focus on improving the quality of education.

The CM Rise schools will equipped with ‘smart classes’ to ensure students get quality education from teachers based in big cities like Delhi and Mumbai. Also, the schools will be equipped with laboratories, sports grounds, and other essential facilities for learning. The government also plans to set up Atal Tinkering Labs in these schools with a focus on skill development of the learners.

In June this year, the Madhya Pradesh government announced that electric scooters will be gifted to 9000 meritorious Class 12 government school students in the state. Emphasising that the focus is on ensuring a bright future for children of the state, CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan transferred a sum of Rs 207 crore in the bank accounts of 4.60 lakh schoolchildren for buying bicycles last week.
