Youtuber Ranveer Allahbdia finds himself in trouble, booked for making obscene comments

Mumbai police received a complaint on Monday, January 10 against YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia and podcaster of “BeerBiceps” fame because of his controversial statements on the show India’s Got Latent. Activist Rahul Easwar submitted a complaint to Mumbai police that included YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia and other youtubers like Samay Raina and Apoorva Makhija also known as The Rebel Kid.
Allahbadia’s remarks aired on the show provoked major backlash through social media. The contestant received an inappropriate question from him regarding their parents’ intimate conduct which many viewers found unacceptable. The funny video created widespread concern about the boundary of free expression for online content.

Maharashtra CM Fadnavis criticises Allahbadia

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis pointed out that every person should exercise free speech but this right requires avoiding hindering others’ rights. Allahbadia faced possible repercussions due to his violation of societal conduct and decency according to the minister.
Fadnavis remarked, “Our freedom ends when we encroach upon the freedom of others. There should be a dignified way of expressing ourselves, and action should be taken against those who violate these rules.”
Easwar filed a complaint calling for legal action against Allahabad and the show sponsors due to obscene content he described as profoundly disturbing and extremely offensive. He emphasised how the broadcast did not carry age limitations which could make vulnerable children encounter inappropriate material. Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate criticised the applauding audience members in this episode. “This isn’t creative. “This isn’t creative. It’s perverted. We can’t normalise perverse behaviour as cool,” she tweeted.

Allahabadia’s controversial question receives attention from NCW chief

BJP Vice President Nilotpal Mrinal and former National Commission for Women chief Rekha Sharma also voiced their concerns over the incident. Sharma described the joke as a reflection of the moral decline in today’s youth and forwarded the video to the NCW for further action. Several individuals have called for the show India’s Got Latent to be shut down and for stricter regulations on online content.
This incident has sparked a larger conversation about the kind of content that is acceptable on public platforms and the responsibilities of digital creators. Ranveer Allahbadia, who has not yet publicly addressed the controversy, boasts over 10 million subscribers on his YouTube channel and 4.5 million followers on Instagram. His remarks and the ensuing backlash have reignited discussions about the boundaries of free expression and the influence of social media creators on impressionable audiences.
